Mauritanie: The clasp was instituted by decree dated 3 August 1909, for service specified operations conducted in the Taraza region of Mauritania in 1908. A very short lived clasp, as the clasp was made obsolete in 1910 when it was replaced by the more generic 'Afrique Occidentale Francaise'
