Wounded-in-Action: Private John Forsyth is confirmed having been 'Wounded-in-Action', while serving in France & Flanders with the British Expeditionary Force. His name and service details were published in The Scotsman newspaper issue of, 23 September 1916, under the regimental list for the Gordon Highlanders in the long list headed 'Rank and File Scottish Regiments and Scottish Soldiers'. In the list his place of residence is shown as 'Hamilton', Lanarkshire, Scotland
