The decoration, which was instituted in 1968, was awarded in three classes, vis; Gold (Gilt metal) Silver & Bronze. Awarded exclusively to Officers and Junior Officers of the Royal Palace Guards, the elite personnel who guarded the Royal Palaces and provided close protection escorts to the Royal Family
