The silk corded riband mounted on a 'crimp brooch'. This latter with federal contractors hallmarks for 'G27', the mounting bar retaining its original hinged pin and intricate drop-lock fittings

The 4 x silver service stars, represent that the wearer of the wearer of the medal was a United States Navy or United States Marine Corps recipient who had served in 20 x additional campaign operations as specified. Each silver star representing 5 x awards / campaigns
