The Ministry of Defence Constabulary, had it's origins in the Defence Department Constabulary that had been established in British India on, 25 April 1947.
At the time of the partition of India and the creation of the independent states of Pakistan and India, the respective Pakistan and Indian allocations of the hitherto Defence Department Constabulary were respectively restyled as Ministry of Defence Constabulary (Pakistan) and Ministry of Defence Security Corps (India) - in India the unit's name was shortened & restyled in 1958 to become 'Defence Security Corps'
