This style of Officer's 'Full Dress' cap badge was worn from end of the South African War through the Second World War

The Hampshire Regiment was only awarded it's honorific title 'Royal' in 1948, in which year it became the Royal Hampshire Regiment, and hence is a very scarce seen regimental pattern badge

Reverse of badge unmarked and retaining its loop fittings
