Alfred Rowley Hill, third son of Rowley Hill (The Londonderry born Bishop of the Diocese of Sodor & Man (Isle of Man)) and Caroline Matilda Hill (nee Chapman) was a native of the parish of St. George Hanover Square, London, England, where he was born in 1868. Alfred's elder brothers were Sir George Rowley Hill (b. 1864), who became 7th Baronet of Brook Hall, Londonderry, and Vice-Admiral Marcus Rowley Hill (b.1867), C.B.E., Royal Navy. who succeeded the father as on, Osborne Gaby, the second son of Walter Francis Gaby (recorded variously as Auctioneer & Accountant) and Louisa Jane Gaby (nee Bownas) was a native of Melksham, Wiltshire, England, where he was born on, 25 June 1886. The 1901 National Census for England & Wales records, Clive living with his mother, and his maternal grandparents 9his Grandfather was a 'Schoolmaster'), at the latter's residence located at, Calne, Wiltshire, England. The 'Wiltshire Times and Trowbridge Advertiser' issue of, 4 July 1914, contained the below following notice pertaining to Clive's acceptance of an overseas appointment in British India:

Alfred Rowley Hill and his wife, were blessed with two children, a daughter and a son. Maud Elizabeth Anne Hill, was born at Bonhill. Dunbarton, Scotland, on 30 January 1894, and married a senior official of the Bengal Nagpur Railway Company. Their son George Alfred Rowley Hill (1899-1985), born at Bonhill, Dunbarton, Scotland and later an Indian Army Officer, who married Rose Ethel Kathleen Spratt at Bombay, India in 1924 - the marriage ended in divorce in 1938, with Alfred's former daughter-in-law, subsequently gaining fame as Personal Private Secretary to Sir Winston Churchill, for which services Rose was decorated with a well earned M.B.E. Their son later became Sir George Alfred Rowley Hill, 9th Baronet of Brook Hall, Londonderry. Alfred's daughter whose marriage did not last, ending in divorce. Following retirement from his long career as a 'Railwayman' in British India - a career that stretched more than 30 years - Alfred returned with his wife and family to the United Kingdom, where they took up residence on the Isle of Man. Alfred's son, George Alfred Rowley Hill (1899-1995) became Sir Alfred Rowley Hill, 9th Baronet of Brook Hall, Londonderry is recorded to have died at Myrtle Hill, Ramsey, Isle of Man, on, 22 April 1946
