Medal fitted with original silk corded riband, and 12mm crimp brooch mounting bar. This latter with contract makers hallmark 'LI-GI' on reverse, and the bar retaining it's hinged pin & drop clasp fittings on reverse as issued

The NASA Exceptional Bravery Medal is a NASA award for exemplary and courageous handling of an emergency by an individual who, independent of personal danger, has acted to prevent the loss of human life or U.S. government property. The award is open to government and non-government employees

Between 1961 to 2000 only 30 x Exceptional Bravery Medals were awarded

This example with matt satin finish, and basis the makers marks and crimp brooch style is an early issue from period circa 1970's-1990's
