The recipients translated recommendation for the award of the Order of the Red Star states:

Between August 9, 1945 and August 21, 1945, during the war with Japan, he flew 11 combat sorties, tasked with maintaining communications with the forward units and with operations officers from the Front Staff on board. He conducted his sorties in adverse weather conditions and at night and in doing so he provided the Front Staff with prompt communications with the units.
For carrying out his combat missions on schedule and in adverse weather conditions, thus ensuring that the signal officers were speedily brought to the units, he deserves the Order of the Red Star.

Nikolai Iosifovich Dizna was born in Krapotkino, Azov-Black Sea Krai in 1918. Dizna served in the Red Army from 4 July 1938 until August 1946, and at the time of the award was serving as flight leader in the 256th Independent Air Communications Regiment, 2nd Far Eastern Front
