Geoffrey Stubbs, third son of Edward Stubbs (a Gas Fitter at Gas Works) and Mary Ann Stubbs (nee Seaman) was a native of, Norwich, Norfolk, England, where he was born on, 22 November 1894. At the time of the compilation of the National Census for England in 1911, Geoffrey is recorded as living with his parents and 7 x siblings (including 2 x elder brothers, Henry & James, and 4 x sisters) at the family residence located at 34, Spitalfields, Norwich, England. In 1911, Geoffrey and both his brothers were employed at the local Gas Works, as was their father. Geoffrey was a pre-war member of the Territorial Force, which force he joined at Norwich, Norfolk, England, on 11 October 1912. At the time of his enlistment, he was 17 years and 11 months of age and was employed as a 'Labourer' with the British Gas Light Company. He was posted to the East Anglian Field Ambulance, and was embodied for 'War Service' on 5 August 1914. Geoffrey's subsequent record of Great War service was:

He married Ada Elizabeth Long in 1921, the couple subsequently being blessed with 4 x sons. At the time of the compilation of the National Register of England & Wales in 1939, Geoffrey, together with his wife and sons, were residing at, 94 Onley Street, Norwich, his entry also shows that he was a serving member of the Air Raid Precaution, or A.R.P.. Geoffrey Stubbs is recorded to have died in his native Norwich, Norfolk, England, sometime during the first quarter of 1963
