The Star is numbered on lower edge of the fourth ray of the star, and comprises 6 x digits which appears to be 110000

The SSM is only awarded as a reward for acts of gallantry under active combat conditions

The medal riband is fitted with an early un-marked 12mm 'Crimp Brooch' complete with long hinged pin & intricate drop lock clasp fittings on reverse, as issued

The reverse of the mounting brooch without any contractors hallmarks indicating an issue from the Korean War / Vietnam War era
