4th (Hazara) Mountain Battery (Frontier Force): This 'Mountain Gunners' unit was raised in 1851 as the Hazara Mountain Train. It became part of the Punjab Irregular Force and then the Punjab Frontier Force. It became the 4th (Hazara) Punjab Mountain Battery in 1876 and served in the 2nd Afghan War (1878-1880). it became the 24th Hazara Mountain Battery (Frontier Force) in 1903, the 104th (Hazara) Pack Battery (Frontier Force) in 1921 and the 4th (Hazara) Mountain Battery (Frontier Force) in 1927
