Royal Observer Corps Long Service Medal (Leading Observer D.C.P. Willmer)
The recipient was Dudley Charles Pyemont Willmer (1926 -1999), had his birth registered at Cheadle during the first quarter of 1927. While growing up he was a resident of Ipstones, Leek, Staffordshire, and in later years was a long term resident of, Aylesbury/Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England
Dudley Willmer was the son of Eustance V. P. Willmer & Ismare Ann Hester Willmer (nee Jones) who was a native of Ipstones, Leek, Staffordshire, England, where he was born on,  16 December 1926. At the time of the compilation of the National Register for England & Wales in 1939, Dudley was recorded as a 'Schoolboy' and residing with his parents and his older sister at, Holmwood Lodge, Ipstones, Leek, Staffordshire. Voluntary service was common to the members of this patriotic family, as his father (an Engineer Auto Mechanic Fitter & Machinist and Garage Manager) is shown as being a Warden with the Air Raid Precaution, while his sister is shown as having applied for the Nursing Auxiliary Service 
The below following obituary notice was published in the Leek Post and Times issue of 20 January 1999

WILLMER - At peace on January 16, 1999 at Wycombe General Hospital, Bucks, Dudley, aged 72 years, the dearly loved husband of Joyce Willmer, of Holmer Green, High Wycombe and formerly of Ipstones.
