The letter prefix 'S' that precedes his enrolled regimental number, denotes service with the Supply Branch of the R.I.A.S.C.

Medal Verification: Sajawal Shah is confirmed being entitled to the medal, that was awarded with gratuity per the respective Indian Army Order of January 1939 which included MSM & LS&GC medal awarded for the year ending 31 December 1938

The respective Indian Army Order shows that Baker 1st Class Sajawal Shah, was stationed at 'Abbottabad Cantonment', North West Frontier Province (now located in Pakistan) when awarded his LSGC medal
