The recipient No. 2469 Gajiman Bhaju was a Nepalese soldier of Gurkha ethnicity was a soldier holding the rank of Sepoy (Private) who was a member of the Putao Battalion, Burma Military Police, who was serving on attachment basis with the 85th Burma Rifles (restyled 3/20th Burma Rifles) at the time of qualifying for the GSM with clasp 'Kurdistan'

The referenced medal rolls shows that 85 x Gurkha & 1 x follower were all attached from the Putao Battalion Military Police to 85th Burma Rifles, and were entitled to the GSM 1918-62 with clasp 'Kurdistan'.
