The recipient No. 2469 Gajiman Bhaju was a Nepalese soldier of Gurkha ethnicity was a soldier holding the rank of Sepoy (Private) who was a member of the Putao Battalion, Burma Military Police, who was serving on attachment basis with the 85th Burma Rifles (restyled 3/20th Burma Rifles) at the time of qualifying for the GSM with clasp 'Kurdistan'

The referenced medal rolls shows that 85 x Gurkha & 1 x follower were all attached from the Putao Battalion Military Police to 85th Burma Rifles, and were entitled to the GSM 1918-62 with clasp 'Kurdistan'. Of those, all were issued with only one medal later returned and scrapped. The medal roll having below remarks about how the medals were to be disposed of:
