Donald Corner was a native of, Whitby, North Yorkshire, England, where he was born on, 8 November 1934 and attested for the Royal Army Pay Corps on 23 July 1952. Promoted Corporal on 4 May 1954, he was posted to Cyprus in January 1957, and was promoted successively Sergeant on 4 September 1957; Staff Sergeant on 1 April 1963; Staff Quartermaster Sergeant on 1 April 1966; and Staff Sergeant Major on 24 November 1969. He was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on 2 September 1970, and was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Royal Army Pay Corps on 20 September 1971, being promoted Lieutenant that same day, and Captain on 20 September 1973. He retired on 30 November 1975, and died in Stockton-on-Tees, England on, 3 June 2000
