Wounded-in-Action Italy 1944: Guardsman R. S. Urquhart, is confirmed being 'Wounded-in-Action', while serving with 2nd Battalion Scots Guards in Italy, on 7 July 1944 (British Army Casualty Lists 1939-1945 irefer)
Per the casualty return, Robert was one of 8 x Guardsmen of 2/SG wounded on the same day

Robert Summers Urquhart, son of Alexander Urquhart and Isabella Urquhart (nee McLaren ) was a native of Dundee, Angus, Scotland, where he was born on, 1 March 1920. Not long after turning 18 and a half years of age, Robert enlisted in the British Army on 9 September 1938 at which time he was given the unique Army Number 2058242, which was from the block allocated to the Royal Engineers in 1920. Robert subsequently transferred to the Scots Guards, and is reported to have served in the Narvik Campaign in Norway (1940), with 1st Battalion Scots Guards (the 1st Battalion Scots Guards fought in the Norwegian Campaign as part of the 24th (Guards) Infantry Brigade) and then served with 2nd Battalion Scots Guards under higher formation of 8th Army, in North Africa and Italy, where in the latter campaign he was 'Wounded-in-Action' on 7 July 1944. By the time he took his final discharge from the British Army on 9 July 1946, Robert had served 7 years 304 days with the British Army
Shortly after taken his discharge, Robert Urquhart returned to his native Scotland, where he joined the Fife Constabulary on 28 November 1946, on which date he was given the warrant number 159. His extant service record with the Fife Constabulary, shows that he was described as a 'Motor Driver' and measured a strapping 5 feet 11 & ¾ inches in height. Robert married Katherine Lumsden Sutherland in Cupar, Fife, on, 29 November 1947
Robert 'resigned' from the Fife Constabulary on 1 March 1950, his conduct being described as having been good. His residence address in 1950 was recorded as:

After resigning from the Fife Constabulary, Robert took up an appointment in his home town with the Dundee City Police
