The 5th Battalion, Queen's Own Royal West Kent Regiment: The battalion was formed on April 1, 1908, as part of the new Territorial Force, re-designated from the 2nd Volunteer Battalio Headquartered in Bromley, it recruited across North West Kent, including Dartford, Beckenham, and Sidcup, and was part of the Kent Brigade, Home Counties Division
