George Edwin Faithfull, son of John Faithfull (an Agricultural Labourer) and Sophia Faithfull (nee Carter), was a native of, Southwick, Hampshire, England, where he was born on 4 January 1900. The 1901 National Census for England & Wales records the one-yea old George, living with his parents and 4 x older siblings at the family residence located at, 25 West Street, Southwick, Hampshire. The 'Faithfull' family appear to have been locally very well known, as there are no less than 4 x family dwellings side by side in Southwick in 1901, all containing member sof the extended 'Faithfull' family, of which there were 22 x members at that time,. By the time of the 1911 National Census for England & Wales, George now a 'Schoolboy' is recorded living with his parents and siblings at, 'The Drove, Southwick, Fareham, Hampshire. The 1939 National Register for England & Wales, records George living with his wife Dorothy May Faithfull (nee Collier), at their residence located at, 14 Stewarts Green, Hambledon near Droxford, Hampshire, where he was employed as a 'Road Foreman, Hampshire County Council, and is also recorded as being employed in a civil defence role as a 'Special Constable. George Edwin Faithfull, was a widower when he died at his residence located at, 14 Stewarts Green, Hambledon, on 9 March 1969
