GSW to Left Forearm & secondly GSW to Buttock on 27/09/1918 (Service sheet refers - the year date (either 1917 or 1918) has been clipped in the digital image...... 

George William Parr son of Albert Parr (a Paperhanger) & Margaret Anne Parr (nee) was a native of Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England, where he was born, 1 June 1896. George was baptised at the Anglican Church of St. Ann, on 14 June 1896, at which time William was residing at, 1 Norland Road, Nottingham. At the time of the 1911 National Census for England & Wales, George is recorded employed in 'Printing', and living with his parents and  3 x younger sibling brothers at the family residence located at, 24 Davis Street, Nottingham. By 1914, George, now employed as a 'Carter', enlisted for the Royal Marine Light Infantry on, 18 February 1915. Georges extant service sheet, held and accessible at The National Archives, shows that he served with the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force in the Dardanelles 3 December 1915 to May 1916. He then deployed to France where he served from 19 May 1916 to 29 September 1918. While serving under higher formation with the Royal Naval Division in France & Flanders with the British Expeditionary Force, he was twice 'Wounded-in-Action', George joined the Royal Fleet Reserve, 5 March 1922, being finally discharged on, 5 October 1931. George William Parr is recorded to have died in Nottingham, England on, 21 May 1971
