Michael George Peter Randall was an native of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, where he was born, 19 April 1946. Michael served with the Australian Army as a National Serviceman or 'Nasho'. He was posted to the Royal Australian Army Medical Corps (R.A.A.M.C.), and subsequently served overseas on active service in the Republic of Vietnam, where he is recorded serving as under
