Recipient was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Royal Army Pay Corps on the National Service List on 17 September 1955, and was promoted Lieutenant and Paymaster on 3 June 1957, with the rank of Acting Captain. He transferred to the Territorial Army Reserve of Officers on 23 May 1960
