The recipient, John Edwin Winwood Mellor, was a native of Glasgow, Scotland, where he was born in 1947

John served with 1st Battalion Black Watch in the period circa 1966-1976. Qualifying for his United Nations, during the Black Watch deployment to Cyprus between November 1966 to May 1967, and before deploying on his first operational tour of Northern Ireland

The medals mounted in the swing style and 'as worn' by the recipient. The white metal mounting bar retaining its original long hinged pin and clasp fittings
