Rex Glithro, was born circa 1913, and is recorded resident in Cardiff, Glamorgan, Wales, where he was employed with the Post Office. The extant Post Office appointment books showing that in 1939 he held an appointment as an 'Unestablished Skilled Worker', and in 1942 is shown recorded as a Skilled Worker I Class. When he joined the British Army sometime after 1942, his civilian technical skills made Rex a perfect sure-fit for service with the Royal Signals of the British Army, which unit he was posted to on enlistment and given the unique Army Number 2320539. The 1945 Electoral register for Glamorgan, Wales, records Rex as a 'Serviceman' serving in the Armed Forces overseas, his domiciled address shown as -

After the end of the Second World War, Rex too his discharge from the British Army, and returned to Cardiff, Wales, where he resumed his pre-war career with the Post Office. He remained in Cardiff, as late as 1967, in which year the Telephone Directory lists his address as:

During the first quarter of 1966, Rex Glithro married Dorothy Florence Sollinger, in Essex, England. After his marriage, Rex relocated to Essex, England, where he had latterly been holding an appointment as 'Technical Officer' at Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England. In retirement, Rex and his wife relocated to Boston, Lincolnshire, England, where they resided at Frithville Road, Sibsey, Boston, Lincolnshire, England, and where he is recorded to have died at the Pilgrim Hospital. At the time of his death he was 83 years of age, and his wife succeeded him as a widow
