Winifred Edna Sweet (nee Chisholm), daughter of Roderick Chisholm (a native born Scot) and Catherine Chisholm (nee Taaffe, a native born Irish woman), was born in South Africa in 1918. Winifred is recorded to have married Reginald Philip Sweet on 25 December 1944. Winifred was appointed a Probationer Nurse in the South African Military Nursing Service in 1941, and was promoted to Senior Probationer Nurse on 1 January 1944. She served with No. 107 General Hospital during the Second World War in the Middle East in 1944, and in Italy in 1944-45. Winifred Edna Sweet is recorded to have died at Clan William Western Cape, South Africa on, 26 August 1993
