The medal in 'Greek' language was issued to all personnel of the Greece Expeditionary Force (Army & Air Force units)  that served during the Korean War

The medal with original corded silk riband & complete with the original mounting bar, this latter retaining the hinged pin & intricate drop lock fittings, as issued

Greek Expeditionary Force: The Greek Expeditionary Force (GEF) in Korea, served in theatre 1950-1955. Post 1955, only nominal numbers of Greek personnel remained in Korea. The GEF comprised one reinforced battalion of infantry, drawn exclusively from 'Volunteers' of the Hellenic Army - the composite battalion was called the 'Sparta Battalion' - and the 13th Flight of the Royal Hellenic Air Force (7 x C-47 Transport Planes). In theatre the Sparta Battalion was attached to the United States Cavalry Division, while the 13th Flight supported the United States Marine Division

A total of 10255 Greek personnel served in Korea, with an estimated 187 x 'Killed-in-Action' & 617 x 'Wounded-in-Action'
