Military Medal. GV first issue ' For Bravery In The Field'. Un-named as issued to Allied personnel

Reference 'British Gallantry Awards' (Abbott & Tamplin, 1981), 'Honorary Awards' of the Military Medal made to allied personnel were not published in the London Gazette but were recorded in separate printed lists issued by the War Office. 68 x lists of 'Honorary Awards' were printed, but the authors were only able to locate and record the awards from 63 x lists. The missing lists notwithstanding, the authors were able to record a total of 5688 x 'Honorary Awards' of the Military Medal being issued between 30 October 1916- 6 October 1920 as under:

- Belgium: 422
- Czechoslovakia: 320
- France: 2472
- Greece: 140
- Italy: 1320
- Japan: 68
- Portugal: 76
- Rumania: 259
- Russia: 7
- Serbia: 171
- United States: 413

The majority of 'Honorary Awards' of the Military Medal to allied personnel were issued un-named
