India Long Service and Good Conduct Medals. EDVII issue (2348 Lce. Dafdr: Bhagwan Singh 32d. Lcrs)

The recipient Bhagwan Singh was an Indian soldier who held the rank of Lance-Daffadar (Corporal) while serving with the 32nd Lancers a cavalry regiment of the British Indian Army

32nd Lancers: The regiment was raised at Baroda, Central India in 1806 as the 2nd Regiment of Bombay Light Cavalry, of the Bombay Presidency Army. After several  name changes, the descendent regiment was styled, 32nd Lancers in 1903. Prior to the Great War the regiment had been awardded  the below following  Battle Honours:

- 'Central India'
- 'Afghanistan, 1879-80

Per the Indian Army List issue of October 1909, the regiment was stationed at Silkot Cantonment, Punjab, India (now in Pakistan), and as a 'Mixed'Class' regiment was comprised of the following classes:

- 2 x Squadrons of Mussalman Rajputs
- 1 x Squadron of Rajputs
- 1 x Squadron of Sikhs (other than Jat Sikhs)
